Point ID Numbering (4)

The 6 digit numbers are unique within each township and when combined with the township, range and meridian are unique to the public land survey system (PLSS). The first 3 digits refer to the east and west position of the corner within the township and the second 3 digits refers to the north and south position of the corner within the township. The meridian lines are numbered 100 through 700 beginning with the west boundary of the township. The latitudinal lines are numbered 100 through 700 beginning with the south boundary of the township.
