Scott vs. Lattig, supra

In discussing the relationship of these three previous cases in Scott vs. Lattig, the court said regarding the Grand Rapids case,

“that the evidence left it uncertain whether the so-called island was more than a low sandbar and there was a question of island existence at the date of statehood.”

Also, the original surveyor was apparently naturally inclined to ignore the survey of the particular area.

Mistake or fraud was not indicated.
